The weather has a mind of its own here in Baton Rouge. But just because it's raining doesn't mean you have to stay cooped up in your hotel room! Here are some fun things to do on a rainy day in Baton Rouge:

1. Get lost in the museums
If you're staying downtown, you're in luck! There are many museums nearby, including the LSU Museum of Art, Old State Capitol, Capitol Park Museum, and the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, which also houses the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium. Learn, explore and play at any of these museums.

2. Go shopping
Stay dry and shop all day at the Mall of Louisiana, where you can find dozens of name-brand shops and local boutiques. The Mall of Louisiana also has a bustling food court and the second-largest indoor carousel in the world!

3. Catch a movie
After shopping your heart out at the Mall of Louisiana, head next door to AMC Theatres to catch the latest blockbuster hit until the storm passes. If you're in a different area of town, try United Artists Citiplace, Cinemark Perkins Rowe, or AMC O'Neal.

4. Go bowling
Hit the lanes at Circle Bowl or All Star Lanes. At Baton Rouge's Quarters, you can not only bowl, but also play arcade games and laser tag.

5. Grab a bite
Foodies rejoice! Baton Rouge has plenty of places for you to enjoy all different types of cuisines, but here are a few of my personal favorites: Mansur's on the Boulevard, Superior Grill, Portobello's Grill, Hello Sushi or Louie's Cafe.
