Southern Band
Also known as the “Human Jukebox,” the Southern University Band and Fabulous Dancing Dolls bring excitement to the Capital City and Southern football games.
You can find them playing anything from show-stopping classics to current hits on a Jaguar game day. "Often imitated, but never duplicated," they have raised the bar and set precedents for other collegiate marching bands and ensembles.
The band earned its "Human Jukebox" name from its ability to play any musical arrangement, specializing in the current hits of the day. They've won countless awards, performed in parades across the nation, become an online sensation and were featured in Beyonce's 2019 Netflix documentary, "Homecoming."
Redefining the typical style of a college band, the Human Jukebox appeals to a crowd of all ages during their halftime performances. They know how to capture the attention of any crowd and can liven up any game!
