Buying local produce has many benefits, including supporting our local economy, extra flavor for your food and health benefits. While it’s encouraged to buy produce based on the season, our local farmers work hard all year round to ensure Baton Rouge has the freshest product available. RED STICK FARMERS MARKET

The Red Stick Farmers Market brings over 50 vendors together, all providing the very definition of fresh. At this market, you can find a variety of fruit, vegetables, beef, dairy and baked goods from local farmers and makers, as well as plants and locally made home goods and personal care items. With four weekly markets, there’s a perfect time for everyone to check the out throughout the week!

FRESH PICKIN’S MARKET

While Fresh Pickin’s Market is not your traditional farmers market, it serves nothing less than good produce at good prices from around Baton Rouge. Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, this open-air market offers shoppers fresh, quality produce from local growers and farmers at lower prices than other grocery stores. Their wide variety of products gives you the opportunity to dive right into the wonders of Louisiana spices and culinary culture.

BATON ROUGE ARTS MARKET

On the first Saturday of every month, the Baton Rouge Arts Market takes place alongside the farmers market on the corner of Fifth and Main Street. Find a variety of hand-made arts including pottery, cast & blown glass, jewelry, metal sculpture, hand-made goods, mixed media, furniture, wood carvings, mosaics, photography and more!

Hot Art Cool Nights is Baton Rouge’s Mid City neighborhood’s premier spring event. The festival is totally free, and the supersized market spans from Jefferson Highway at Goodwood Boulevard to the intersection of Government and 14th Streets.
