"In Celebration of Women,” an art exhibit created by the Contemporary Fiber Artists of Louisiana, is the latest exhibit in a series celebrating women and their accomplishments. This exhibit opens Tuesday, November 4 at Louisiana’s Old State Capitol and will run through December 19.
Each artist created a special piece to be featured in this unique exhibit with the theme “in celebration of women” in mind. These artworks feature a wide variety of creations made with thread, fabric, wool and other fiber materials. Pieces vary from quilts to jewelry to sculpture creations and several are available for purchase.

“In Celebration of Women” is being held as a contemporary compliment to the year-long exhibit, “Louisiana’s Lionhearted Ladies: Championing the Right to Vote.” For more information on the Contemporary Fiber Artists of Louisiana, please visit https://www.contemporaryfiberartistsofla.com.

Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is operated under the direction of Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin. The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
