A Musical Holiday Festivity

BATON ROUGE - Opéra Louisiane invites friends and families of all faiths to celebrate the season at
Christmas and Carols on Friday, December 20, 2019 at First Baptist Church. This unique and
memorable holiday celebration begins with a glorious one hour opera about a young shepherd boy
and his loving mother who are visited by the three Magi following the star to the Baby Jesus. The boy
makes a selfless gift and is blessed with his own Christmas miracle. Next, is a presentation by choir
members from across the capital city singing favorites of the season accompanied by organ and
piano. The grand sanctuary of First Baptist Church creates the perfect acoustical space for this
magnificent performance. Refreshments of Christmas cookies and warm cider will be served.
Audience members will have a chance to take pictures with the cast and in a variety of holiday
scenes.
