The Louisiana Restaurant Association was established in 1946 to promote, protect and serve the interests of the state’s foodservice and hospitality industry. There are more than 8,352 eating and drinking places in Louisiana, according to the National Restaurant Association. These establishments are considered the cornerstones of their communities and are highly relied upon to participate in a multitude of philanthropic activities. Annually, the industry contributes more than $7.3 million to Louisiana's economy and is the largest private sector employer in the state with nearly 200,000 residents relying on restaurants for their livelihoods.
