LSU Burden Museum & Botanic Gardens
Overview
The Orangerie, designed by A. Hays Town, is a unique structure, part conservatory and part interpretive in construction. They were originally designed to house or protect citrus trees during cold weather, hence the name.
Rental of this facility includes the use of the conference/catering room (15-person capacity, table and chairs for 10 people provided), atrium overlooking the Rose Garden (100-person capacity), parking lot and lawns and gardens immediately in front of and behind the building.
The Pavilion features exposed beams and a handsome fireplace that overlooks the Burden Woods. This open-air venue, located near the Burden Woods will allow couples to exchange vows in the outside, with plenty of natural light and lush greenery. It has a 140-person capacity and a fireplace for couples and their guests to warm up after the reception. Facility use charges include the use of the covered pavilion (approximately 40' x 60') and the lawns surrounding the building and the Memory Garden.
