Fall into History
Overview
Join us at the historic Old Governor's Mansion on Sunday, September 6th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for our second annual Fall into History! Celebrate the arrival of Fall with a day filled with delicious meals, and sweet treats from some of the area's favorite businesses. As part of the Free First Sunday tradition, visitors can tour the mansion, guided by friendly docents eager to share the rich history of this iconic landmark. This year, we are excited to partner with the West Baton Rouge Museum, the Baton Rouge African American Museum, and LSU Special Collections, each of whom will display items from their own collections throughout the Mansion. In the Formal Dining Room, home to the famous Zuber wallpaper, attendees will be encouraged to create their own stamps and designs to leave a mark on the mansion. Discover hidden treasures behind the scenes as our curator showcases rare artifacts from the Mansion's collection storage, offering an exclusive glimpse into our history. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking for a lively family outing, Fall into History promises a memorable day for all ages. Come celebrate community, history, and the beauty of fall, you're invited!
