Ghost Stories in the Galleries:
A Night of Creative Writing and Sketching
Tuesday, October 27 from 6–8 PM
Ages 16+ only. Please note: All minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult while attending the program.
Free to attend. Space limited to 15 participants. Pre-register online.
*Must arrive at 6 PM to fully participate in guided experience.
Step into the galleries after dark for an evening of spooky storytelling inspired by the art on view in the Southern Gothic: Literary Intersections with Art from The Johnson Collection exhibition. Let the artworks guide you as you dream up ghostly tales and eerie sketches inspired by what you see.We’ll provide writing and sketching supplies, along with prompts to spark your creativity during this guided experience. Costumes are welcome, but must follow museum guidelines.
Costume Guidelines
We encourage guests to get creative and dress for the occasion! To help protect the artwork and ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
Not allowed:
Wings, tails, or other large/protruding accessories
Masks or headwear that obstruct visibility
Prop weapons
Hard, oversized, or cumbersome props and accessories
Glitter or costumes with glitter
Fresh flowers, feathers, or other organic materials
The LSU Museum of Art reserves the right to restrict costumes or accessories that may pose a risk to the artwork, interfere with museum operations, or disrupt the experience of other visitors.
