BATON ROUGE, La. (Nov. 20, 2025) – Visit Baton Rouge celebrates two beloved area restaurants that have been recognized by the prestigious MICHELIN Guide at its inaugural American South selection ceremony November 3. The Baton Rouge region was the only Louisiana destination aside from New Orleans to be recognized.
“Baton Rouge’s eclectic restaurant scene is rapidly emerging,” said Laura Cating, senior vice president of marketing for Visit Baton Rouge. “We are thrilled to see our beloved dining establishments step into the international spotlight to be recognized for their reverence for tradition, inspired creativity and warm hospitality. Eating in Baton Rouge is one of the best ways to experience our relaxed, yet refined culture, and to feel our signature joie de vivre.”
Visit Baton Rouge was one of several destination marketing organizations from across the South that participated in this groundbreaking partnership between the MICHELIN Guide and Travel South USA to highlight the region’s culinary assets on a global stage.
"It is such an incredible honor to be recognized by The MICHELIN Guide in its inaugural selection for the American South Region," said Paul Dupré, co-owner of Elsie’s Plate & Pie. "When we opened Elsie's eight years ago, our goal was simple: to offer high quality food and experience at an affordable price for the Baton Rouge Mid City community, while honoring our heritage."
"This recognition confirms the love and hard work that we pour into every plate and pie served," added Lindsay Dupré, co-owner of Elsie’s Plate & Pie. "From our grandmother's pie recipes, to our incredible staff that brings our vision to life day after day, we take great pride in sharing our creative take on our families history of Southern Louisiana cooking. We hope that every guest that walks through our doors feels the love that we have poured into our family restaurant."
