The third annual Winter Youth Rugby Clinic: “Heaux Heaux Heaux” will be at the official Baton Rouge Rugby Club Pitch: BREC Highland Road Park in conjunction to the BRRFC annual Ho-Ho-Ho Rugby Extravaganza Match to promote Toys for Tots. Girls and Boys ranging from 5 to 17 year olds, from the Baton Rouge Area and surrounding parishes will develop age appropriate individual, positional and enhanced rugby skills.

If you’re new to rugby, a game consists of 2 teams, 15 players with the object of the team scoring across the opponent’s score line or kicking the ball through the goalposts on a soccer-sized field. Each player plays offense and defense by running, passing, kicking and catching the ball. If you can play hot potato and duck-duck-goose, you’ll love this upgraded version! Experience is not required or expected!

This one day FREE clinic sponsored by Baton Rouge Rugby Football Club, Baton Rouge area Youth Rugby Club, BREC and Louisiana Rugby is not only an introduction to rugby fundamentals, but participants will have an opportunity to specialize in age appropriate skills of ball-handling, kicking and fitness to build Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership on and off the field. Onsite registration/check-in begins at 8:15 am (pre-registration is highly recommended)/, the clinic will begin at 9am. The rugby clinic will end at noon and like all rugby gatherings, there will be food and comradery! Middle and High School Youth are welcome to play in the annual Baton Rouge Rugby Club Ho-Ho-Ho Rugby Extravaganza: Toys for Tots match. There is no fee for youth to play, but everyone else, the entry is a donation of $10 and an unwrapped toy or $20. See you at the pitch!
