CELEBRATING RUGBY WITH LOUISIANA DAY
This Saturday, Nov. 7, Louisiana Day will be celebrated by Baton Rouge Rugby Club with the support of Visit Baton Rouge. Founded in 1977 the 43 year history of Baton Rouge Rugby runs deep with tradition. In that time, hundreds of players have played for the Baton Rouge Rugby Club building it into a strong, vibrant organization. That vibrancy is reflected with the launch and growth of Baton Rouge Youth Rugby and its programs. Joining in the celebration of Louisiana and its rich traditions and heritage will be special guests from Major League Rugby’s NOLA Gold. Those guests will include top draft picks Brian Nault (#2 Overall Central Washington University) and Andrew Guerra (#10 overall Notre Dame College), as well as Devin Short (Member of the USA Falcons Rugby Sevens Team, and one of the most promising young players in American Rugby). Nault, Guerra, and Short are all considered strong contenders for the USA Eagles National Rugby team, and will be present to teach, inspire, and empower Baton Rouge Youth Rugby’s players.
