In 2016, during a year of trials, Visit Baton Rouge’s sales department secured over 300 conventions hosted in the Baton Rouge area and welcomed over 170,000 attendees; generating over 120,500 hotel rooms booked. Through Visit Baton Rouge’s efforts, the economic impact generated in 2016 was an estimated 40 million in indirect spend.

Beyond the efforts of Visit Baton Rouge’s sales staff, meeting professionals work directly with hotels and venues to secure meetings and hotel rooms, enhancing the economic impact generated locally.
