Cohn Nature Preserve The 28.5 Acres is a conservation and preservation park area. This is undeveloped property on Foster Road, south of the Cohn Arboretum, that is to be left in its natural state for birds and animals. The late Margie Cohn donated the park to BREC for this purpose.
BREC's Cohn Arboretum features more than 300 species of native and adaptable trees and shrubs, a fruit orchard, butterfly garden and bamboo collection on 15 acres of beautifully landscaped, heavily wooded land. A 1-mile paved trail circles the lake and another lake skirts a wooded area.
Both are accessible by wheelchair.
Amenities and services include pamphlets, paved walkways, self-guided tours and guided tours. If you would like a guided tour, you must pre-register by calling 225-775-1006. Guided tours and presentations are available by request only and are limited to groups with a maximum of 14 people. Admission is free. Pets and Picnics are not allowed
