Butler Greenwood Plantation
- 8345 US Highway 61 St. Francisville, LA 70775
- (225) 635-6312
One of the area's most historic antebellum plantation homes. Still owned by the original family, the plantation contains numerous original furnishings, clothing, sliver, porcelains, portraits, and other period objects. A treehouse located at the edge of a steep wooded ravine has a fireplace and a three-level deck. The property also includes a gazebo with 9-foot-tall antique stained glass church windows and a 1796 brick old kitchen with exposed beams and skylights. Tours of the antebellum home are conducted by well-informed members of the original family. The bed and breakfast offer overnight accommodations in eight private cottages scattered around the peaceful plantation grounds. Every romantic cottage contains a private bath, Jacuzzi, kitchen, porch, or deck.
