Due to COVID-19, we are unable to have live music indoors. Due to the current situation and to accommodate the festival in a safe manner the following changes have been made. Be sure to bookmark this page so that we as updates will be posted.
*The festival is moving from downtown to Pointe Marie - a beautiful community near downtown Baton Rouge that was designed based on Seaside, Florida and has a large beautiful green space with outdoor amphitheater area. We will be packing all of the fun into a one day event, but we are partnering with events on Friday & Sunday for an entire weekend of music.
*On Saturday 3/20, the Songwriter Workshop will take place from 10am-2pm (anyone registered last year, may partake in person or virtually) - as we get the website updated and confirm attendees, we will open the workshop up to those that may not have been able to enjoy this educational part of the festival as it has previously been on a Friday during the day; Noon - 5PM - Multiple Outdoor Songwriter Circles/Rounds - we want to accommodate anyone that was planning to perform last year and would like to participate and play (there will be a link on the festival website to sign up if planning to participate) - this will be FREE to the public - there will be food trucks and art vendors during this time, as well; 5-7 PM will be the Songwriter Dinner (plans are to make this a Cochon de lait catered by City Pork with drink pairings) - dining outdoors under the stars or in the screened in pavilion with songwriter performances - if you had tickets last year, you're set; but we will be opening up some additional reservations once we receive dinner confirmations; 7-10 PM - Hit Writer Showcase (performers will be different and announced soon and opening rounds TBD) - if you had tickets to the Red Dragon show, you are set for this too! If you cannot attend and had tickets, we will make this performance available to you virtually. Again, since this will be at the outdoor amphitheater stage, additional general admission tickets will be sold. There will be an announcement when additional tickets go live.
*Friday night - Pointe Marie will be having a live outdoor concert as part of their Friday night concert series that begins on March 1 - Details coming soon
*Sunday - Songwriter Sunday at Jolie Pearl has been ongoing with performance outside Jolie downtown - performers TBA
*Anyone traveling into town and wanting to stay over - we have discount hotel blocks at the Marriott Downtown & Watermark on the festival LODGING link. Pointe Marie is next to the L'Auberge Casino where you can walk over to Point Marie. We just received a discount code RSONG if you call #1-866-261-7777 to book at the casino for a rate of $199 per night on Friday or Saturday. Our rates downtown are less expensive, but you would need to drive over to Pointe Marie; however, there is plenty of parking.
More details will be coming soon!
We hope that in 2022, we can be back to normal and can have our numerous venues and pray that some of our favorite venues downtown will survive this shutdown and get to re-open soon. We hope that you have all been healthy & well this year! We know that many of you will not be able to travel to the festival this year and we will miss you, but we feel that the music has been missing for so long, that we really wanted to do somethin'! For
Thanks and Laissez les bon temps rouler!
