Every holiday season, The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou is the highly anticipated holiday performance. The classic Christmas tale is transformed into a Louisiana vision only a native could image! The play showcases ballet at its finest, amazing costumes, enchanting displays and an unforgettable performance by the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre.


This year the performances will be held on December 20 and 21 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts located at 275 S River Rd. in downtown Baton Rouge.

Synopsis 
Clara has a visit from her parrain (French for godfather) on the bayou, when he tells her a story about an enchanting nutcracker. As the classic tale goes, that night Clara dreams of this magical nutcracker but with details only a true Louisianian could envision The ballet features sets inspired by historical landmarks, such as Nottoway Plantation, Oak Ally Plantation and Louisiana's Old State Capitol. Join Clara on her wondrous journey to the "Land of Snow," "Kingdom of Sweets" and many more destinations that will wow the audience.
