Lisa is a New Orleans, Louisiana native and a Baton Rouge, Louisiana resident. She is a local artist who has been painting continuously for the past 6 years. She is an active member and officer of the Art Guild of Louisiana. Lisa majored in Fine Arts at LSU, where she received her BFA degree in Design.
Lisa says she benefits from her Art Guild of Louisiana membership, as she can paint often away from
home, at their studio, and work among some amazing artists.
Lisa loves painting in acrylics, but very much enjoys oil painting and working with color pencils. . Her favorite subjects are those
which she feels are her best work: Louisiana birds, wildlife and flowers.
Emily is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native and local artist who has been painting most of her life. She enjoys memberships and holds executive board positions in the Art Guild of Louisiana and the Louisiana Watercolor Society. Emily has studied under local and national award winning watercolorist Kathy Miller Stone, LWS, NWS for many years and credits her as one of her greatest mentors.
Emily believes Louisiana has some of the most beautiful places anywhere in the world. It has a palette of vibrant colors with its beautiful swamps, plantation homes, live oak trees and its abundance of wildlife ... all just waiting to come alive through a painting. She spent a lot of time with family in New Orleans growing up and loves painting anything in the French Quarter as well as the famous streetcars which is one of her favorite subjects. She will tell you from personal experience “any artist who has ever lived in Louisiana and left knows exactly what it feels like to come back home to find all this beauty just waiting to be reawakened with a brush!”
Her works have been juried into the National River Road Show Exhibit in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and in 2019 her Hot & Spicy painting (above) won a Merit Award. She was juried into the Brush with Burden Exhibit in 2013, 2014, 2015 and in 2016 when it ended. She has shown in the Baton Rouge Art League Show (Invitation Only) each year for the past 6 years. In 2016 it was an honor to have her watercolor painting “Iced Blues” (blue crabs) juried into the Louisiana Watercolor Society International Exhibit judged by Paul Jackson, NWS, LWS.
