High School Baking & Pastry Skills Development - Summer Class

In this one day boot camp, you and other high school students will learn the basics cake preparation and basic decorating skills. With the help of our chef instructors, you'll start with simple step-by-step lessons in cutting, filling, and icing. You will finish by making your very own cake creation. Along the way, you'll learn how to prepare icing, use food coloring, and make basic leaves, flowers, and borders. By the end of class, you will have covered different techniques you need to know to create unique cakes for all your occasions. Prepare for a day of creating and experience a day in the life of a Louisiana Culinary student.

- Open to high school students entering their Junior and Senior years along with recent high school graduates.
- The total cost for the course is $200 per participant which includes lunch and a LCI logo apron.
- Any student who completes the camp will receive a certificate that can be used as a $500 credit to be applied toward tuition upon enrollment.
