Since the beginning of time, we humans have sought to understand the Universe. The artists whose work is on view in this exhibition each present their own attempts to decipher the Universe, expressing scientific data with emotive imagery and visually depicting abstract mathematical principles with beautiful renderings. Each artist brings their own interpretations to this almost incomprehensible subject, visualizing with their art the wonder of our Cosmos.

LASM was selected to receive nineteen works from Art & Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI), which was founded in 1988 in New York City, after the nonprofit organization's dissolution in 2019. The images on view were part of ASCI's 15th International Art-Sci Juried Exhibition, The Cosmos.

The exhibition was organized by the Louisiana Art & Science Museum and was curated entirely from its collection.

This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, funded by East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President and Metro Council.
