Whether you’re new to Baton Rouge or grew up here, there’s plenty to do in the Red Stick for college students. If you’re looking to get out and explore, check out these top three things to do in Baton Rouge.
1. Explore Government Street
This lively street in the heart of Mid City offers countless ways to eat, shop and explore. With restaurants like Elsie’s Plate & Pie and Curbside Burgers , you’ll always find something new and delicious to eat. If you’re into shopping, The Pink Elephant Antiques and Time Warp Boutique bring you back in time with their collections of vintage and antique clothing and goods you won’t find anywhere else. Lastly, Mid City is notorious for having pop-up markets with local vendors throughout the year, so make sure to check them out!
2. Play Like a Kid Again
Places like Top Golf , Quarters and the 13th Gate Escape Room are great places to hang out with friends and forget about the stress of school. As a bonus, most of these places have college student discounts, too—just show your college I.D.!
3. Nightlife
Louisianans are known for letting the good times roll, and Baton Rouge is no exception. Just outside of LSU’s gates are some of the best nightlife locations, including Barcadia, The Varsity and The Bulldog. All you need to do is grab a drink and put on your boogie shoes.
