The free pop-up holiday market Shop Hop is back in downtown Baton Rouge for its 3rd year! This time at a new venue, the Capitol Park Museum, which will give shoppers the added bonus of free museum admission all day.
From 11 am - 8 pm on December 7, 2017, find rows and rows of unique gifts for your family and friends, and even pick up a few things for yourself! This year's vendors are a variety of local businesses, specializing in everything from dainty jewels to gifts that share the taste of Louisiana.
Here's a little preview of the types of local businesses you'll be supporting when you "Shop Small" at this year's Holiday Shop Hop.
1. Locally-Owned Boutiques
SoSis Boutique is owned by two local sisters with a knack for finding the hottest fashions.
2. Beautiful, Handcrafted Jewelry Makers
Éveillé Jewelry describes themselves as "Handcrafted jewelry designed to awaken your world."
3. Home and Body Care
LiveFree is a natural home and body care company with tons of gifting goodies for the holidays.
4. Men's Gift Ideas
Because let's face it - you never know what to get them! The Garage, Men's Clothing Store has apparel and accessories "For guys who like good music, fast machines and hate the mall!"
6. Sweets and Treats
Truly Scrumptious Candies will be there with their famous Pretzel Crunch - but we're warning you now, it's habit forming!
These are just a few examples of what you'll find at this year's Holiday Shop Hop, but there are plenty more participating vendors. If you've never been to the Capitol Park Museum, be sure to save some time to check out this museum dedicated to Baton Rouge and Louisiana History, especially while the admission is free during Shop Hop! In the museum you'll explore all the different regions of Louisiana and what each are known for. You can even experience what it's like to be on a Mardi Gras float, tossing beads to parade goers!
After finishing all your Christmas shopping and learning about our great state while at the Museum, stick around for the annual Red Stick Revelry Champagne Stroll! This year's stroll starts right there at the Capitol Park Museum at 5:30 p.m. The ticketed event benefits the Red Stick Revelry and allows you to enjoy bubbly and caroling on the Holiday Trolley as you make your way to downtown hotels and learn about their New Years Eve specials!
