In case you haven't heard, Mardi Gras is right around the corner! Join in on some of Baton Rouge's biggest Mardi Gras events this weekend!

The Spanish Town Parade

If you've ever been in Baton Rouge around carnival time, there's a chance that you've seen a pink flamingo adorning lawns or businesses. The pink flamingos represent the annual Spanish Town Parade.  In 1981, Spanish Town residents decided to celebrate their community by starting a Mardi Gras parade. This year, the theme is "St. Valentine's Day Masquerade."

Don’t forget to dress up in your best pink attire—this year’s Spanish Town Parade is this Saturday, February 14 at noon!

The Ultimate Louisiana Mardi Gras Party

The 2nd Annual Ultimate Louisiana Mardi Gras Party will take place Saturday, February 14 at North Boulevard Town Square. The festival will showcase live bands, Krewes, a Vendor Village, art exhibits, food, love songs for Valentine’s Day and a tribute to drummer Ronnie Houston. Headlining is one of Louisiana’s favorite bands, Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor. The family friendly event is free to the public. ‘Taste of Louisiana’ meal tickets are $10.00 and $20.00.

Make sure to practice your catching arm--with the Mardi Gras festivities this weekend you're going to need it! For more information on Baton Rouge Mardi Gras, click here.
