Baton Rouge, along with much of South Louisiana, has seen a flurry of openings of craft breweries and micro-distilleries, pairing its longstanding food culture with locally made beverages. Enjoying beer, wine and spirits has always been part of the regional gastronomic experience, but never have there ever been so many homegrown options. These breweries and distilleries are committed to detail, noted in the local ingredients they use to impart flavor notes. We invite you to come taste for yourself – with two distilleries and four craft breweries, you’ll get to know Louisiana’s Capital City in a way you never thought possible!

DISTILLERIES

Laissez Versez Distillery

Laissez Versez Distillery’s business plan is simple – provide distilled spirits for customers to enjoy. Laissez Versez offers a selection of flavorful spirits that combines traditional with extraordinary. For a classic, the Louisiana whiskey is calling your name. This spirit has won international acclaim, earning two medals at the TAG Global Spirits Awards in Las Vegas. For those looking for a little adventure, indulge in one of the uniquely flavored liqueurs, such as Wedding Cake or Apple Pie. Each liquor and liqueur are made from locally sourced ingredients, and you can take a free tour and taste the freshness at the tasting room, open Thursday through Saturday.

Oxbow Rum Distillery

Formerly known as Three Roll Estate, every drop of Oxbow Rum Distillery’s sugarcane rum is farmed, milled and distilled right here in Louisiana. Using sugarcane raised on the banks of the Mississippi River, Oxbow transforms each harvest into a smooth, fine sipping rum. Take a tour of the distillery to see the process in action and use the barrel thief for a taste of the rum straight from the barrel. Once you finish the tour, head out to the patio to enjoy craft cocktails and cozy up to the fire pit.
