School is out and the temperatures are rising. These eight Baton Rouge area water attractions are the perfect way to cool down. From water parks, splash pads and lakes, soak up the sun in Baton Rouge!
 

Water Parks

1. Liberty Lagoon
Located next to Independence Park's softball fields, this BREC park has it all: a splash pad, playground, lazy river, slides and pools. Liberty Lagoon is a must-see for anyone wishing to cool down and have fun this summer in Baton Rouge.

2. Blue Bayou
With nine giant slides, a lazy river and a pool, Blue Bayou will keep you cool on the hottest days. After you dry off, head next door to Dixie Landin', an amusement park with a ferris wheel, carousel and many roller coasters.

3. City-Brooks Community Park
BREC's City-Brooks Community Park is 154-acres large! Explore a labyrinth and the Raising Cane's Dog Park and then cool off at the park's splash pad. If you have time, visit the nearby LSU/City Lakes for one of the most beautiful views in Baton Rouge.


4. Greenwood Community Park
At BREC's Greenwood Community Park, you can not only enjoy a splash pad, but the Dumas and J.S. Clark Park golf courses, an 18-hole disc golf course, a community playground, tennis courts, a dog park and a bayou lake trail. You can fish, kayak or canoe in the 18-acre lake at the park. With so many family-friendly activities, you can easily spend a day at Greenwood Community Park!

5. Forest Community Park

BREC's Forest Community Park's splash pad can be operated from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. all summer long. Enjoy the park's trails, playground, dog park and bank fishing. This park is definitely worth the trip!


6. Downtown Water Fountains

Play in the fountains at the Shaw Center for the Arts and at North Boulevard Town Square!  Afterwards, head over to one of the many downtown restaurants, attractions or hotels!

7. Jambalaya Park
Cool down at Jambalaya Park's spray park in nearby Gonzales. The park also features a large pool for your enjoyment and exercise.

8. Aqua PARDS
Aqua PARDS in nearby Denham Springs is a sure place to have fun and cool off. Splish, splash and get at it!
