The high school math wizards of Louisiana are arriving in Baton Rouge today for the annual Mu Alpha Theta Convention at the Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge Hotel. Students will compete in math competitions including ciphering, math bowl, hustle, area tests and more.
Paul Arrigo, President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, is excited about the conference and its future implications for Baton Rouge. “We’re proud to retain the business in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge has the unique opportunity to showcase our great city to these future leaders with the hope that the students will come back in the future for business and leisure.” Arrigo said.
The mission of the Mu Alpha Theta organization is to further the understanding of mathematics and to encourage a more intensive study of mathematics.
