BATON ROUGE, La. – WBRZ News 2 is happy to announce the return of WBRZ’s Fireworks on the Mississippi, sponsored by The Baton Rouge Clinic, and presented by Visit Baton Rouge. The largest fireworks display in the Gulf South returns July 4, 2021, at 9:00 PM after a one-year hiatus due to Covid 19.
WBRZ is proud to continue the tradition created by the Manship family of providing Fireworks to East and West Baton Rouge on Independence Day for over 50 years. Manship Media COO, Jake Manship said, "I am excited to bring back WBRZ's Fireworks on the Mississippi. It was hard not doing the fireworks last year because of the pandemic. I hope this is a signal of the reopening of America and Baton Rouge".
This year’s fireworks display can be viewed from either side of the Mississippi River, in Downtown Baton Rouge or Port Allen. WBRZ would like to encourage the public to join us in our annual tradition of honoring our great nation. The patriotic celebration will be accompanied by a live telecast live on 24 Hour News Channel WBRZ+, WBRZ.com, and WBRZ News 2’s Facebook page.
WBRZ would like to thank the Baton Rouge Clinic for sponsoring the event and Visit Baton Rouge for their support. Port of Baton Rouge and Verret Shipyards of Plaquemine for their assistance.
