Baton Rouge, LA – During the 35th Annual Louisiana American Italian Sports Hall of Fame Gala, “Shoot for the Stars”, Visit Baton Rouge President & CEO Paul Arrigo, CDME, was awarded the Joseph I Giarrusso Civic Award.
The Award recognizes local Italian American individuals who have worked to better the quality of life for Italian Americans and their communities while excelling in their career. Previous recipients include educators, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. Notably, local recipients included District Attorney, Hillar Moore and CEO of Manda Fine Meats, Robert “Bobby” Yarborough.

The event will took place at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino in New Orleans on January 25th and included a formal dinner, presentation and silent auction. During the presentation, several contributors of Italian Americans in the sports, entertainment, medical and civic fields were honored.
The American Italian Renaissance Foundation, operating as the American Italian Cultural Center promotes the culture and heritage of the American Italian community by offering a variety of services including language and culture classes, seminars, concerts and events.
