Bring the kids to the Louisiana Art and Science Museum for “Snips, Snails, and Fairy Tales” on Feb. 4. Actress Kristy Coast will present lively readings from some of the Grimms’ most popular fairy tales! This program is held in conjunction with the art exhibition David Hockney: Six Fairy Tales. Arrive early, so the kids can catch Miss Trudy’s Traveling Trunk Show at 11a.m. for stories, games and songs!
The 2012 United States Bowling Congress Championships will kick off on Feb. 11 and run through July 9 at the Baton Rouge River Center! Hollywood Casino is offering free parking and shuttles to USBC bowlers and their guests. Check out the Mignon Faget: A Life in Art and Design exhibit at the Louisiana State Museum Nov. 18-Feb. 25. Guests will enjoy celebrating the life and work of noted Louisiana artist and jewelry designer Mignon Faget. The exhibit features hundreds of objects-including jewelry, prints, linoleum blocks, drawings, glassware and textiles. The exhibition presents the artist's commercial work and commissioned pieces for Mardi Gras krewes, museums and numerous charitable organizations.
