The design of our Convention Center incorporates regional architectural elements, such as exterior shutters, deep sunlight filtering exterior spaces and double height porticos. These design elements are evident in the grand main lobby as well as the exterior second-floor veranda that showcases views of the Mississippi River. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Baton Rouge River Center expansion has completely transformed downtown Baton Rouge. The entire complex, including the existing Arena and Theatre for the Performing Arts, as well as the new Exhibition Hall, includes more than 200,000 square feet of new and renovated space, and incorporates state-of-the-art exhibition, meeting, concession and kitchen facilities. The new 70,000 square-foot Exhibition Hall can be combined with the existing Arena to create more than 100,000 square-feet of contiguous exhibit space and a total of 17 breakout meeting rooms.

The LSU Museum of Art, located in the new Shaw Center for the Arts, is an exceptional venue for your next meeting or event. With 14 different galleries, soaring 16-foot ceilings and stunningly beautiful lighting, your guests will be surrounded by both imaginative and historical works of art. Upon entering the lobby, visitors will be greeted with a spectacular view of the Mississippi River. The 13,000 sq. ft. gallery can accommodate up to 400 people. Also available is the Bert and Sue Turner Gallery, a 2,000 sq. ft space also overlooking the Mississippi. The gallery can accommodate about 200 people, reception style. The LSU Museum of Art Conference Room is also available for rent and can hold about 30 people.
The Louisiana State Museum - Baton Rouge is a 69,000 sq. ft. facility located across from the intricate gardens of Louisiana's State Capitol. The award-winning, International-style structure is the newest and largest of the branches of the Louisiana State Museum. Two spacious permanent galleries showcase aspects of the state's history that changed the nation, as well as cultural attributes that define the "Louisiana experience." A third gallery provides a venue for traveling exhibitions and other shows. The museum offers more than 10,000 square feet of indoor and covered outdoor space, which can accommodate up to 750 people for special events such as meetings, dinners, and receptions.
The Southern University Museum of Art is located in the 14,000 sq. ft. Martin L. Harvey Auditorium on Southern's beautiful campus. It is comprised of eight galleries, a stage, front and rear foyers and a gift shop. Four galleries are dedicated to the display of African art from the major art producing regions of Africa. The other four galleries are dedicated to African American art, including Louisiana artists and Southern University faculty and staff.
