Travel to the Myrtles Plantation to learn about the ghosts that inhabit the plantation property. Mystery Tours and accommodations for the plantation are available year-round for brave souls. 
 

For haunted outdoor adventures, check out the Baton Rouge Corn Maze, located in Port Allen, or the Maize at Cajun Country Corn, located northeast of Baton Rouge in Pine Grove. Both Mazes offer haunted and non-haunted trails!

For family friendly fun, come downtown for our annual Halloween Parade! Also, enjoy a merry-not-scary trick-or-treating extravaganza at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo. Wear your best costume and visit stations throughout the zoo, wander through a hay maze and boo den. Bring the kids to a Pumpkin Patch, just south of Baton Rouge. Visitors can purchase pumpkins and gourds of all sizes, enjoy a hay ride, walk through a haunted house, explore a nature trail and take pictures under a decorated gazebo. Delve into the eerie side of astronomy, physics and aeronautics during The Spooky Spectrum at Highland Road Park Observatory. Enjoy Howling Halloween at the West Baton Rouge Museum. Visit the collection of centuries old dwellings on the museum grounds to be greeted by historical characters for old fashioned tricks-and-treats and claim a cozy spot under the moonlight to hear haunting Halloween Tales told by professional storyteller!

Visit the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair for thrills, chills and family entertainment. Enjoy the Capital city’s annual carnival with more than 40 rides, great food and live music. Visitors will enjoy strolling clowns and magicians while listening to rock, bluegrass, blues, zydeco, country and gospel music! 

For a spooky good time, visit Louisiana’s Old State Capitolto hear the story of the “Castle on the River” told by the castle’s ghost, Sarah Morgan. Initially spooky, a little witty and overall entertaining, the “Ghost of the Castle” exhibit is a great attraction!
